Five Tips To Get Autumn Fit
Do you set goals on New Year’s Eve and never follow through? Instead of thinking January is the best time to start a fitness programme, think of autumn as the New Year.
Here are five tips to get the most out of this season and be ready for the Christmas festivities.
- Try Something Different
How many times have you thought about trying a new class or get into the gym more? This is the perfect time to try one of our live or virtual classes with new releases for all the Les Mills programmes being launched on 30th September. If you are unsure about what to do in the gym, book an induction or hire one of our fully qualified personal trainers.
- Be Active While TV Watching
With TV channels available on our Life Fitness equipment you can be active while watching your favourite TV show.
- Integrate Exercise Into Your Life
Take the opportunity to move as much as possible in your daily life. Take the stairs instead of the lift, park farther away from your destination, take a walk during your lunch break or visit us where we have a variety of virtual and live classes running over the lunch period. If you are waiting for your children to finish after school activities take a walk around the football pitch or around the area instead of sitting in the car. Everybody should aim to achieve at least 10,000 steps per day.
- Rest & Relaxation
We all want to feel good not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. Make time for yourself with activities that calm the mind and body such as meditation, yoga, Les Mills BodyBalance, leisurely walks or going to a spa and enjoying a facial or massage.
- Stick With It
It takes 30 days for your body to adapt to the changes you make in your lifestyle. The mornings are going to be darker and colder and it is going to take a real effort not to roll over and hit the snooze button. If you can get up at the same time every day for a month it will become much easier. You will be far more productive during the day getting up and out to exercise. Our Bootcamps run on a Tuesday and Thursday at 06.45 and we have a variety of live and virtual classes starting from 06.45am each week day morning and from 8.15am at the weekend.
