World United - Les Mills Launch Weekend
21 September 2020
The event, which was organised by global group fitness experts Les Mills celebrated the return of community fitness and its importance to our physical and mental health around the globe.
Kings is the largest provider of Les Mills classes in the Channel Islands, with more than 100 instructor-led and virtual Les Mills workouts to choose from each week, including BodyPump, BodyAttack, CXWorx, GRIT and Tone, plus the popular cycling classes of RPM, Sprint and the brand new immersive fitness experience ‘The Trip’.
The event celebrated the latest series of these world-famous workouts, which were specially created by Les Mills – the group fitness expert behind World United – to celebrate the return of fitness facilities around the globe. While the majority of participants joined the event via live streaming at home, thanks to Guernsey’s early easing of restrictions and handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kings was in the enviable position of being able to host full classes throughout the weekend on-site as the Club joined the celebrations across the globe via social media.
“It’s thanks to the efforts of the Bailiwick as a whole that we were able to lead the way globally in terms of our emergence from lockdown and easing of restrictions” said Club Manager Sean Mills.
“It’s been a real community effort and we would like to thank our loyal members who stuck with us throughout the lockdown.”
“Since the Club re-opened in June, we have seen a real upturn in people looking to invest more in their health. There has been an unprecedented amount of interest in memberships, which has been largely driven by the appeal and popularity of our new immersive indoor cycling studio, featuring The Trip from Les Mills. There’s a real buzz around the Club at the moment as people recognise the importance of staying both physically and mentally healthy and enjoy reaping the benefits of exercising with friends in a safe and stimulating environment.”
