Tai Chi is a holistic practice improving body, mind and spirit and is an essential element of Chinese Traditional Medicine.
Health bodies worldwide, including Health and Social Care in Guernsey and the UK National Health Service have acknowledged its health benefits. The physical movements employed in Qi Gong and Tai Chi are gentle and are practised slowly so can be undertaken by all age groups - from twenties to nineties.
What are the benefits of Tai Chi?
Regular practice using breath control accesses Chi energy that builds up in participants enabling them to benefit from a number of positive gains including: greater awareness, better balance, release from stress, easing of muscle tension, increased body tissue elasticity, improved circulation and strengthened immune system. These add up to create an inner balance and a sense of wellbeing which many people say makes them feel relaxed and better able to face their everyday challenges.
